Before we discuss why you should consider Hostgator, I want to give you a little background on the company and its origin. HostGator was founded back in 2002 by Brent Oxley. In 2007, the company moved from Boca Raton, Florida to a new 20,000 square building in Houston, Texas. Later in 2008, Inc. Magazine ranked HostGator on its list of the fastest growing companies at 21 in the United States. HostGator made their hosting service green hosting by working with Integrated Ecosystem Market Services. In 2011, HostGator started operations in India. In 2012, Oxley announced the sale of HostGator to Endurance International Group for $225 million, but Oxley would still own the buildings HostGator used. Currently, HostGator hosts over 9 million domains, making it one of the largest providers. Hopefully, you can see that this company is one of the biggest and best hosting providers out there. In my next post, I will discuss more about why their service is so appealing.
