The Best Tools For Building Your Blog

I often get asked what tools I use for my business, so I thought I would add a list here for you. Some of the links are affiliate links. That means if you click on it and end up purchasing it, I am paid a small commission at no extra cost to you. However, I personally use these tools in my business. I believe in each and every one of these products or it wouldn’t be listed here. I won’t list all the tools I have tried and didn’t like. Take my word, these are the best of the best tools out there for setting up a blog.

Hosting
I have used Hostgator and Bluehost for hosting for over ten years. Along the way, I have tried several other hosts and have never been completely satisfied with them for one reason or another. That doesn’t mean there aren’t some very good hosting providers out there. It just means that Hostgator and Bluehost have provided the best service and value for me.

Domain Name Registration

There are numerous registrars out there to get your domains registered, but I prefer Namecheap. The most popular place for domains is Godaddy and I use them a little, but I don’t like their interface as it is difficult to navigate. GoDaddy tries to upsell you stuff you may not need on every step of the checkout process.

Best Blogging Platform

WordPress is the Best Blogging Platform for Beginners for setting up a blog. Get your free blog at WordPress. You will love it. There are other Top Blogging Platforms, but I prefer WordPress.

WordPress Theme
Many top sites are built on the Genesis theme platform. I also like the Thesis theme.

Keyword Research I use Long Tail Pro for all of my keyword research and I am quite pleased with their product. If you want a successful blog with plenty of traffic, then getting keyword research right is essential. Long Tail Pro will help you find profitable keywords to use.

On Page Optimization I love SEOPresser.  It is a WordPress Plugin that always helps greatly with getting my on page optimization near perfect. (I would love to say “perfect” but is anything really perfect?) They have several pricing plans to choose from. It is one of those few tools that you buy and are thrilled you did.

Backlinks Link Emperor costs a few bucks but it is well worth it. You will be able to get all the links you need. The best part is it is very user friendly.

AutoResponder

My personal favorite autoresponder for email lists is aWeber.  It is easy to learn and manage. They have a special where you can get the first month for $1.00. Get Response is my second favorite autoresponder. Both will serve you well.

Recording Videos

Camtasia is the best tool for screen recording and making videos.

Whatever tools you use, the main point is that you get your own blog set up and start adding content. These tools have worked great for me and I strongly recommend that you take a look at them. I am confident they will make your blogging life much better.
